House Calls NYC is an interview and photography series documenting the luminaries of the New York City house music scene(s) across the boroughs, subgenres, and generations.
We aim to give voice and a platform for self-expression to those who embody the true spirit of house music through building community, spreading love, and being oneself.
House Calls takes inspiration from print resources documenting the NYC underground that precede it including Love Injection, East Village Eye, Next Magazine, among others.
The logo is loosely inspired by the plate design for “When Can I Call You?” produced by Ronald Burrell and featuring vocalist Lisa Lee, released on Nu Groove in 1990. Design by Jean-Pierre Consuegra.
